RSPCA to Investigate Case of Cat Maimed by Illegal Gin Trap

A TABBY cat lost one of its nine lives after it was snared by an illegal gin trap in Mid Wales.

The RSPCA has launched an investigation into the incident, as gin traps have been outlawed.

It is thought the cat will make a full recovery despite losing one of its legs, which was badly mangled by the device.

Vets were forced to amputate the feline’s front leg following its experience earlier this week.

The RSPCA confirmed that it was searching for the individual who set the vicious trap.

It said such devices had been banned for some years.

The cat, whose name isn’t known, was discovered by pensioner Dot Fisher in the north Powys town of Llanfyllin on Tuesday night.
