A RETIRED farmer who set a baited trap in a way that was outlawed more than 100 years ago was fined £1,400 at Dumfries Sheriff Court yesterday.
Jonathan Galbraith, 66, of Hightae, near Lockerbie, set the springer trap in the open after he lost a number of birds at his pheasant shoot at Dalton, near Annan.
